CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Rukmini Banerji is CEO of Pratham Education Foundation in India. She joined Pratham in 1996 and has extensive field experience in program implementation in rural and urban areas as well as in research. Rukmini also led the ASER effort for 10 years from 2005 to 2014.

CO-FOUNDER

Madhav Chavan is a social activist and entrepreneur. He is the co-founder and CEO of the educational non-profit, Pratham. He also started the Read India campaign, which aims to teach basic reading, writing and arithmetic to underprivileged children across India.

CO-FOUNDER

With 25 years of experience as an education and social activist, Farida Lambay co-founded Pratham in 1995 with Dr. Madhav Chavan. She heads the Pratham Council for Vulnerable Children and is also responsible for Pratham’s direct programs in Mumbai and Gujarat.

DIRECTOR

As a regional head, Usha was responsible for Pratham's work across six states where she helped establish partnerships with the state governments. She administered collaborative plans to undertake programmes that helped improve learning skills of children in primary schools.
